M/S Dr. Riiber – Advanced Ambulance vessel HSC 2000
Commissioning of twin Volvo Penta D12 650 hp engines during sea trials in Aukra, Norway. Project management for engine and gearbox, ZF325, compliance with IMO HSC 2000 Code. This was a difficult task but thanks to our team we succeeded in the end.
- The engine installation were also calculated to withstand 12G at collision impact to comply with the HSC2000 Code.
- The engines are coupled to two K36 waterjets from Rolls Royce.
- At the sea trial the top speed exceeded expectations.
The vessel was designed by Gazelle Technology AS and built at Brödrene Hukkelberg yard in Aukra, Norway in 2004. It is one of the worlds most advanced ambulance vessels and has recently been upgraded with two Volvo Penta D13 900 hp engines.
